Coach Mike has been involved in ice hockey for over 25 years. Mike Learned to skate at the late age of 10 and then got the hockey bug. After watching hockey on t.v. for years he wanted to experience it for himself. While learning to skate on ponds and at public skating sessions he also honed his skills playing street hockey for hours on end.

Over the years Mike picked the game up quickly playing goal for Tewksbury and started to become noticed. At the age of 13 he was playing for three teams at the same time. His Bantam B team loaned him to the Midget A team and he was also playing for Tewksbury H.S. (rules were different back then). Mike went 23-0-0 with his Bantam team and set a record for most consecutive wins and unbeaten season while being the teams only goaltender. From there Mike went on to play Junior hockey for three years and then was invited to two professional free agent tryouts. In 1990 Mike tried out for the Boston Bruins and in '95 tried out for the Colombus Chill of the East Coast Hockey League. After his competitive playing days ended he turned to coaching today's youth players.

While playing youth hockey Mike went to various hockey camps and was asked to come back the following year as an instructor for a local school. After working for 12 years he felt that there was a better way for players to be trained. After being asked to do some private lessons Mike was continuosly asked to do more. Mike started first by running a once a week session for goaltenders who wanted to stay on the ice for a little longer at the end of the season. This took off very well. Still being asked to do more was when Mike formed The Complete Goaltender.

With Mike's abundance of knowledge from playing and working with other hockey schools he felt that the offensive and defensive players needed something more also. Mike was already training goaltenders for years and teaching skills to the other players, why not teach the offensive and defensive players the secrets on how to score on goaltenders. Mike was teaching the goalies how to stop them, why not teach players how to score on the goalies. With this idea in mind Mike Fournier Hockey Schools was launched.

Mike has been involved in the development of hockey players for local high schools, and has coached players for the past 23 years from the ages of 5 through his oldest being 42, where he has prepared them to proceed to the next level, some even to the pro's. Mike is continuosly contacted by coaches, parents and aspiring pro's from across the world seeking his professional knowledge in the game of hockey. Mike currently resides in Westford, MA with his wife Rebecca and daughter's Jessica and Julia.
